Set the instant pot to sautee normal
Dice the onion
When the pot gets hot, add the butter and coat the bottom
Add the onion and stir periodically
Put your pan on the stove and set the heat to medium high
Cut the meat into managable pieces
Liberally salt and pepper both sides
Add your high heat oil to the pan
Place Beef in the pan and brown both sides (about 4-5 min per side)
When the onion is thoroughly brown, add a bit of water, stir well, lower the heat
Add paprika to the onions in the instant pot
Smash and dice garlic, add to instant pot
When both sides of the beef are cooked, put on a plate to rest.
Deglaze the pan with broth and pour into the pot
Cut the beef into bite sized pieces and add to pot
Add bay leaves, fish sauce, and tomato paste to the pot and stir
Fasten the lid and set to cook 35 min, high pressure
When the timer is up, wait an additional 15 minutes before opening
Add the potato flakes and stir to thicken, salt and pepper to taste
Serve over egg noodles (cooked according to package instructions) with sour cream mixed in
